This is not a blog. Honest.

Published June 25th, 2005

I was never going to have a blog. So here it isn’t.

Anyway, this isn’t a “…and here’s another picture of my cat!” type of blog, at least. It’s a place for me to jot down some notes about random stuff I discover during my job as a web developer (I’m not sure exactly what my job title is, but that’s about what it boils down to). Also, from time to time I’ll be posting widgets that I’ve come up with, that other people might find useful. I’m nice like that.

So there you go. What fun!

Whats wrong with a picture of your cat?? :)

I also think your job title should be ‘Web Development Engineer at Arms’.

Noticed high google rankings for these pages already. Whats your secret?

Well for a start, I don’t have one. That’d make it pretty weird.

I’m really not sure. I use very descriptive titles that are directly related to the content, and also the extended permalinks (ie. the title of the story is in the URL). I think it helps that the-stickman.com has been around for quite a few years now and has lots of links from other sites — I don’t know what my PageRank is but I would guess it’s reasonable, since I get quite a few referrals from Google.

But Google is a black box as far as I’m concerned, I just do what I do.
