However if you can't get the cable to work then it's better than nothing. However, if I remember correctly it was only useful for transferring files, I couldn't use it for J2ME development via the Connection Proxy. As for getting the cable working -- well I found it was trial and error all the way so I'm afraid I don't have much to suggest. You could try putting it in a different USB port. And I seem to remember that there's some way to set the COM port that it uses -- either through the Settings>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager or through the DCU11's connection software, I don't recall.
